Great Two Days of Hiking With Colin…
23 March 2021

What a difference a day makes (March 20)! (Again) Yesterday was dreary, wet, VERY muddy, and cold! I actually slipped and fell twice INTO the mud. Yucky mess. I was even being extra careful. Thankfully, I didn’t hurt anything in my NOT graceful falls. I was so glad to reach my destination. Enjoy the pictures!

I had the shelter all to myself and was able to use it to get out of the wind while eating. After my feet sloshed about in mud pits all day, I had a few hot spots on my toes to tend to but no real damage.

Today I woke up to a beautiful sunrise, clear skies, and COLD temperatures. It was challenging to get everything packed up as my fingers just would not warm up. I finally got on the trail for a short hike into Hot Springs, NC.

Elmer’s Sunnybank Hostel

I am staying at these beautiful hostels in this VERY old house.

Tomorrow I head back out on the trail with Colin Hansen ! I am so excited to have company for the week. Amber Hansen and kids are hanging with her parents, Lynn Thompson while Colin treks in the woods. I am so glad the weather is looking dry.

See You All Soon with More Exciting Updates! Stay Safe and Healthy!

To fall twice but get up three times is a million percent better than I could do!!!! Stay strong and safe my friend. You continue very high up on my prayer list each day! Thankfully the weather is clearing up….you might have to send that coat home with Colin! Love you, Elaine

Thank you, sweet friend. I think of you and Gar often but internet is intermittent so cannot always get too emails, etc. Please know I am thinking of you both and praying for you to feel our Lord’s presence in a mighty way. Love and hugs, dear one.
