What a beautiful day to hike in the mountains of North Carolina! We began our day with some very very cold weather. It was probably around 30, give or take a few degrees. It was hard to get out of our warm tents. Once we got started, the day warmed up nicely and it was an absolutely perfect day to hike! We never got hot or cold except when we stopped at the shelter to have lunch. We arrived at a lovely spot to camp nice and early and had time to do laundry, bathe in a makeshifts bathhouses, set up camp at our leisure, and fix supper before turning in at sunset when the temperature drops. It is supposed to drop to the upper 20’s so I will be bundles up against tonight.
