(March 30)— Tristan enjoy the views so very much and it was a pleasure to see him appreciate God’s Earth! Unfortunately his feet could not handle the mountains…
He had a serious pain in one of his feet the very first day and, combined with a backpack that didn’t fit great, it just wasn’t going to work. Plus, expecting rain for the next 24 hours then cold weather and possible snow. Tough conditions for a beginner. So, we had Bryan come back to pick up my sweet Tristan. We still made some good memories and I encouraged him to try hiking again on the future. I love that boy!
So, hugged the 3 grandkids goodbye and headed up Roan Mtn.
I don’t know the story behind the chimney in the middle of the trail…interesting.
