The last two days (March 7 & 8), have been an amazing adventure as I have hiked alone successfully and with much joy. Yesterday I only hiked about 7 miles but today I hiked a little over 9. Today was really tough as there were several large mountains to climb over. The last climb of the day was up about 800 feet in a mile and it felt like I was climbing straight up. But I did it! I got to camp and set up my tent, hung my bear bag after I ate dinner, and am settled in my tent for the night.
Today (March 9) was a real combo…, over rocks, under trees, hiking most of the day on the skinny path with sharp and long drop-offs. I ended up between shelters as I looked for a phone signal to let Andy, and you, know where I am. My stealthy campsite is lovely. I am exhausted and going to sleep soon.
