(April 19 – 22)— Scenes from my hike with my sweet husband. We didn’t make the miles we had planned as Andy hurt his knee (seems to be a common ailment on the AT). But, he was a trooper and we still had a really nice week. We hit SUPER cold weather yesterday….in the 20’s (AND wind gusts), rain, then sleet, then snow!!! Thankfully, we reached an enclosed shelter, WITH a door, and hunkered down for the sub-zero temps last night. Today (April 22), we still had snow flurries as we hiked. Ended up making a fire to stay warm as we waited for our shuttle back to town. Quite an eventful week!

Someone made several little gnome scenes along this section of the trail…cute. I would have taken pictures of them all but my hands were freezing.
